The last part of the 2023 Petrini Projects is Unit’s Front Entrance Door painting. Everyone must cooperate and participate. (Please note, that the three McAllister St. Units 11, 12, and 13 have already been painted as part of the “exterior” portion of the project and are completed)

A Building final front door painting is scheduled for Friday 9/29 and Saturday 9/30 (See below for those who have signed up already).

B Building is also has slots for Saturday 9/30 as shown below as well as Friday 10/6 and Saturday 9/7 (same time slots as A Building). An email has been sent out asking for your availability.

C and D Building will be started in the next week or so – residents please wait for a sign up email with proposed time slots. If painters finish early and your door has a primer coat – they may knock randomly to see if you’re available for the final coat.

PROCESS:

• All UNIT FRONT DOORS will receive two coats of paint. For the FIRST coat painters will knock on your door and if you are home, you will be asked to keep your door ajar so they may paint to the door’s edges.
• If you are not home or cannot stay home for the next few hours, they will paint the door leaving a small unpainted edge on the top and sides.
• Once the FIRST coat is dry – the SECOND coat will require you to be home and keep the front door ajar during painting and drying. In order to be successful in getting everyone to participate, we will have the painters available on both a weekday and a weekend day – residents will sign up for morning or afternoon slots on either or both days.

When the majority of doors are painted with their second coat and all scheduled time slots have been assigned – anyone who has not participated will pay a TBD fee for painters to return at a separate date to finish their door.

Email are being sent to everyone to which you can respond with your selected time slot(s). Assigned times are published below for A Building so far. If you are traveling or cannot make one of these times, you will have a second opportunity later to sign up.

BUILDING A&B: FINAL COAT SCHEDULE (as of 9/29/2023): If your door was finished, please disregard. The painters will try their best to accommodate your choices. They may also randomly knock on your door to see if you’re available even if not scheduled.

Painting the second coat will take 10-20 minutes. However, the drying process for the second coat (with your door open) may take 1-4 hours depending on temperature and humidity. When the paint is dry to the touch, the door can be closed.

Everyone must participate – there are no exceptions or postponements. We will not be able to keep temporary keys or front door codes for this project as someone will need to be INSIDE the unit for the duration of preparation, painting and drying.
